Presidential Adviser for Poverty Alleviation Larry Gadon has committed to support the poverty alleviation program under the Marcos administration’s “Bagong Pilipinas” campaign.
A media release issued by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said Gadon has laid out plans to assist President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. with his initiatives to reduce poverty.
The Office of the Presidential Adviser for Poverty Alleviation will ensure the enhanced implementation of food programs for school children in critical areas and collaborate with government agencies to create new and improve existing programs, projects and activities for vulnerable sectors, according to the anti-poverty czar.
“The OPAPA will also work with international businesses to generate sustainable job opportunities in the Philippines; support Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises with grants, affordable loans, and workforce upskilling to prompt job creation and economic development,” the PCO quoted Gadon as saying.
The disbarred lawyer also vowed to focus on attracting foreign investors for Public-Private Partnership, infrastructure projects, ensuring sustainable development and contributing to the goal of “halving poverty incidence by the end of the Marcos administration’s term.”
